UANT / Antarctica Museum Archive

Presents: THE EAGLES- IN CONCERT @ UANT's IceBox 1977 - The band famous for easy peaceful feeling and relaxing at hotel California brought some of that magic to Antarctica's students in the later 70s. Their storylines matched students' wonderments about what it might be like to be a desperatdo, what it might be like to relax in a warm climate with surfboard and finally, in a surprise finale, the Eagles premiered a brand new song at UANT, some of their first new material in decades. This finale was more to Antarctica standards- its evocation of cold night in the car, locked out of the house, no warmth, no food, no money. Only the love between the two occupants of the car can keep them alive.
