The boom town of the 19th Century has not only a university, but a football team as well, called United, probably in reference to the city's history as a pro-union worker's town. Manchester and Detroit are similar, except that now Detroit sees nature growing within its borders and houses demolished by arson. Manchester's houses are not yet demolished, and there is still hope for it.
