The City Eternal, the seat of Christ, the seat of Caesar. Just think if the Roman Empire had never fallen? Would even Antarctica be part of it now? Would the Roman state comprise the known world but for perhaps China? Think of Han China had not fallen as well... would they be the superpowers instead of the USA and the USSR? Would a nuclear armed Roman Empire need constant contact with Peking to assure no Mutually Assured Destruction?
